Saturday, November 9, 2013
The 1st Annual Holiday on the Square is less than a month away!  Are you wondering what all the buzz is about? Look no further because we've got all the warm & fuzzy details!

Holiday on the Square is our area’s first outdoor holiday marketplace happening December 6th from 5-9pm  & December 7th from 11-6pm on beautiful Courthouse Square in Downtown Scranton.  We’re transforming Courthouse Square into a Winter Wonderland of warm lights with the annual Courthouse tree lighting & heated tents filled with over 50 of the most unique handmade vendors, live music & carolers, a gallery of nostalgic Scranton holiday photographs, horse-drawn carriage rides, ornament making workshops for the kiddos and kids-at-heart, free hot chocolate (on Friday night) and an Ugly Sweater contest with valuable prizes like downtown biz gift cards!! On Friday night we’ll be part of Scranton’s 1st Friday Art Walk and on Saturday, we’re the centerpiece of Shop Scranton. We've got everything you need to create a new holiday tradition, all packed into a warm and cozy historic setting.

Looking to find that perfect gift for each person on your list?  Our talented artist & artisan vendors are crafting up beautiful handmade goods that will delight your family and friends.

Want a super unique holiday memento? Photographer John Ingiaimo will be on hand with his 8X10 Deerdorff view camera to photograph you with a backdrop of downtown all dressed up for the holidays.

The festivities will extend beyond Courthouse Square with over 30 downtown businesses participating in Shop Scranton.  Each business will be holding their own Saturday Open House complete with complimentary treats and shopping specials!  Don’t worry; our Shop Scranton map (distributed at Holiday on the Square) will be your tour guide to the events taking place!

So get ready to bundle up, head downtown and prepare for the most festive & fun event of the year!
