Tell us a little about Verve Vertu, when it opened and how it is related to the Deutsch Institute.
Verve Vertu is an entity of the Deutsch Institute.  It has been in existence for seven years.  Verve Vertu is an art apprenticeship that taps into the creativity of individuals with special needs.  The artists work in a wide range of mediums creating unique whimsical art pieces.  Watercolors, acrylic, fibers, batik and wool needle felting are some of our favorite mediums.

The love of fiber art has enabled us to develop a line of wearable artwork.  We exhibit at local and regional art venues.  We have been commissioned to advertise events such as the Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice for Mohegan Sun.  We also have been commissioned by private collectors and other local businesses.  Our work is internationally known with works being in Denmark,  Ireland and England.
